The Miami Crossing District Framework
Discover the Future of Miami Crossing
This framework sets out to establish an adaptable, event-driven planning roadmap for the over 1,000-acre commercial corridor surrounding the Dayton Mall. Unlike traditional fixed-timeline master plans, the Miami Crossing District Framework references a Continuum of Change defining different levels of intervention based on shifting realities within the district. Because the majority of district real estate is privately owned, the Framework outlines clear Public Sector postures based on actionable “triggers” rather than arbitrary dates. This community plan was built upon extensive public engagement (639 participants generating over 4,600 ideas/comments) and guidance from an Oversight Committee representing local residents, business owners, and regional leaders.
